Individual Counseling

Counselors meet with students individually, through a student request, through a teacher or parent referral, or as specified in their IEP. We encourage teachers to let counselors know if they have concerns about a student and feel that checking in with a counselor would be beneficial. Additionally, if a student is struggling to maintain appropriate behavior in class a teacher may allow a student to "take a break" in the counseling office to either talk about what is making it hard for them to focus on their learning or take time to mentally regroup before returning to class.

Small Group Counseling

Small group counseling sessions are offered to struggling students to address such topics as social skills, self-esteem, grief and loss, bullying, and anger management etc. The groups are limited to a small number of students are usually run 6-10 weeks long. If you feel that your child could benefit from additional group setting assistance in any of these areas you may contact me at lfretz@pascs.org. Please note that due to current COVID restrictions we are unable to offer in person counseling groups at this time but are expected to commence once school schedules return to "normal".
